Cambridge AI Leadership: Guiding 200+ School Principals in Harare

I recently had the privilege of visiting Arundel School in Harare, where I addressed over 200 principals from Cambridge schools on AI in education. The session proved immensely valuable as we explored Cambridge’s approach to developing AI tools specifically designed to support teachers in their daily practice.

Our discussions centred on several critical areas for educational leadership, including Cambridge’s perspective and practical advice for school heads navigating this technological shift. We examined the crucial role that Heads of Departments and Academic Heads play in successful AI integration across their institutions. Many principals expressed interest in foundational AI training, highlighting the need for an “Introduction to AI for Beginners” course tailored to educators.

Perhaps most importantly, we discussed how AI aligns with the Cambridge curriculum, ensuring principals understood how these tools could enhance rather than disrupt their established educational frameworks. This visit exemplifies Cambridge’s commitment to guiding our global network of schools through the AI transformation, helping them leverage these technologies whilst maintaining educational excellence.
